Constituents of MABIKAs Foundation have been coming together with aspirations to build up a strong community of us indigenous people from the Philippine Cordillera living here in the Netherlands. On November 12, 2017, MABIKAs kickstarted with the very first team building workshop for the purpose of strengthening the organization’s core team as well as start building up future leaders.
The team building workshop was specifically targeted to members of the community who are interested in:
- Helping MABIKAs Foundation become a high performing community of Igorots/ Cordillerans here in the Netherlands
- Finding better ways of us connecting and working together
- Developing and enhancing that leader in them
- Understanding how you can be an asset to your team or any community you’re with- be it here in our MABIKAs family, other volunteer group, or even at work
We were privileged to have Sinead Hewson, a professional consultant from Ireland to be our speaker and facilitator. She has been helping researchers, advisory groups, entrepreneurs, non-profit organizations and companies to find focus, get to the point and take action. She also acts as an evaluator for the communications / science sector for the European Commission.
The purpose of the 3 hour workshop is to bring team members together and have facilitated discussion focusing on how the organization operates. The workshop is structured to capture feedback, challenge (when necessary), and build an even better team dynamic, acknowledge achievements and better ways of connecting and working together.
